don't make a hamburger

Making a hamburger for lunch today made me reminisce about girl scouts...
Okay, this girl named ana was in this committe to make lunch. we were having hamburgers. She started crying at the end because there was blood. I didn't really know what was going on, but something with hamburgers and cooking with blood. Ana wouldnt' eat the hamburger, and starved herself through lunch. I can now see why.
The beef patty looks okay until it turns pink.. it looks sorta gross. But then the grossest part is when little bubbles of red start dripping! eww, gross to the extreme! I was screaming because I thought it wasn't supposed to be like that. Obviously, I've always used the oven to cook patties. And then it kept bubbling, and then I freaked out because I didn't know where the blood would go. In the oil? SICK. So i scooped out all the oil and dripped it down the drain, where a clog is probably happening right now. I took a volume of paper towels and soaked the grease and cooked the patty until it was almost charcol black. SICK SICK SICK. Nonetheless, I ate the thing trying not to concentrate on the blood.

Why doesn't chicken do that? I'm just wondering.

Okay, my favorite food has to be Japanese-at least for now. In China, we went to a Japanese restaurant. It was so cute! There were conveyor belts around the room, with little plates of sushi, sweet peas, Japanese salad, and more sushi. You could take however many plates you wanted, and the waitress would then add up the number of plates. Oh, and each plates had a different color blue the most expensive and white the least expensive. It was pretty cute. I especially love the buckwheat noodles with egg and vegetables. I love the Japanese vingery rice. YUMMY IN MY TUMMY (as Derek would say). Nonetheless, I had a very UNHEALTHY diet today. 4 cookies with milk for breakfast (they are about 1.5 inches wide and 1 inch tall) with chocolate cake that contained extra chocolate chip cookies. I didn't snack until lunch (except for a pear) where I had that atrocious "bloody" hamburger, topped off with cow-tracks ice cream (my favorite). I think I'm gonna get aids. Yeah-and what if those cows have aids?

I need to stop buying all this unhealthy food (or at least my mom needs to) and start going to dong fang dian!! Buy more tofu, fish, rice products, manto, bok choy, bai cai, and eat healthier! I didn't gain one pound when I went to China, but I ate at least 3x more food! It's because it matters what you eat, not how much. Just like the quote says, quality, not quantity. A very good thing indeed, especially with friends.

I'm going to four year old's birthday party soon. It's very sad. I feel like I have no friends. A four year old? I'm going with my brother, but that's also sad, because I feel like people are going to make fun of him and beat him up. So it's all very *sad* in the end.

Women's gymnastics tonight at 7! All around champion! Congratulations to Paul Hamm who won the title of being "The best male gymnast on the planet!" wow, that would be an awesome title. Whenever you would be doing gymnastics, you could always think "I'm better than him."

I'm writing every day!!! well so far. I have a ton of things to do before I go to NEW York the (no, not the garden state, that's new jersey) whatever state. I'll go on the Empire state building, walk on times square, central park, take a ferry to manhatten/brooklyn/ and the other islands, take a walk on fifth avenue, pretend I'm rich and shop at Sak's, go to Chinatown, go to Niagra Falls and get wet, Statue of Liberty, what else?? I don't know, but I'm sure I'll be pretty occupied.

Can you use your manual on the driver's test? Because I have seen a lot of people like that.

Oh, and I got my new glasses! I look very NERDY-it's amazing.

and I have no idea how or what I'm going to wear for picture day. Somethign that'll make my shoulders look smaller. It's weird because I was looking at the Olympic gymnasts and we sorta have the same body type-big muscular thighs and big shoulders with small boobs. lol if only I could be compared to that caliber. Guess what? I grew!! not in height but in bra size... lol, you didn't need to know that. I went bra shopping yesterday and I got REAL BRAS. hehe, they're very *sexy* lol. They even have lace! Oh and another thing, Jennifer Garner has a good body to look after, so does Britney Spears in my opinion. But not Paris Hilton, NOT the Olsen twins, and not Calista Flockhart adn all those creepy skinny girls. Go for muscle and meat! lol okay, that beef has gotten into me.

*dirty dancing havana nights rock*

And Carrie, I finally agree with you: Diego Luna is *sizzlin*
I just finished it and it is such a cute movie! The ending was horrible. You should come over and we should totally see it. He's so romantic and basically the perfect guy in that movie! *fawns*

I've done a lot random things today. It's weird, I only have a few days left before my MYS audition, but I've been practicing a lot less. I ran through my scales (yup, every single one of them) and went on auto-pilot thinking about other stuff. Then I sight-read which yes, I went on auto pilot. I see the notes and I play them, but I don't really think about them. I consider that to be a bad thing.

Carrie, when are you getting  your schedule and etc? I know they have one this wednesday, but I don't know if anyone is going. I don't want to be the only person. And oh, the new freshies! OMG! it seems like yesterday! I LOVED being a freshie. So many people to look up to... and now we will be considered "role models" for the little children.

It's really weird because I haven't had eaten chocolate chip cookies nor ice cream since I've left. And then today, I ate a whole ton! All this sugar is making me hyper!!! Jump for joy!!

So sunday I cleaned my whole closet and organized my new clothes I got!! I got this white skirt with all these ruffles and lace (totally cute and school-appropriate), this pink skirt with ruffles, this creamsicle colored skirt with a belt thingy, this jean mini skirt (not really since it falls a lil above the knees) and what else... I'm thinking. Oh, and I got a lot of *cute* hair accesories. There was this one scrunchie that has a snowflake all in rhinestones... it was pretty expensive, but if it's shimmeri or sparkly, then I'll take it!!

Non-american boys are (at least some of them) are hot. It's weird because in China, there were a lot of really PRETTY girls and they were a half a head taller than their boyfriends or whatever. And they were a lot PRETTIER. maybe they're after their money. Hm.. who knows?

Now I want to see the original Dirty dancing. I wonder if it's the same.

My brother is four! He is hungry! I better go feed him!!!

Have fun at the sleepover azn sista party!!! while i'm bored out of my mind at driver's ed.

there is something in my eye...

Lol. It's been bothering me all day.
Guess what? I'm getting new glasses! They're made by nine west, and they're clearish blue-ish rectangular frames. I think they look very cute and oh-so sophisticated.
My sleeping patterns are really weird, or they have been ever since I've been back. First day I slept from 9pm-1am and then I couldn't fall asleep. I forced myself to stay awake the next day and I finally fell asleep at 4 for three hours. Then I went to sleep from 7pm-11pm, couldn't fall asleep until 1am, and then slept until 3:39 (precisely). Tonight was much better, nonetheless, I went to sleep at 11:30 and woke up at 4. Then I took a nap at noon. You guys are probably bored with me talking about my sleeping patterns. Since there is a 13 hr time difference, 13*1=13 (yay, I still remember math over the summer!!) so it'll take me at least 13 days to switch back to normal.

Okay, I NEED to watch women's gymnastics my favorite sport!

*i miss china already*

What is with this f**** weather here in Minnesota? is it gonna snow tomorrow? Geez I'm wearing sweatpants and a zip up and I'm freezing. In China I wore a miniskirt and tank and I was sweating.

When you're older, trips to foreign countries probably mean more to you. Especially if you're that nationality.  It seems really weird, coming back to the US, where you are surrounded by blonde, blue eyed people and you're the only one with black eyes and hair. In China, you feel like you belong, and you're not a foreigner. There is no asian syndrome, because everyone there follows it. Instead, the foreigners probably have foreigner syndrome. In smaller cities, people are really nice and you talk to strangers a lot. It is SO CROWDED though. But I wonder if I like that. There are many people to talk to.

First thing I thought when I came here: these people are fat!! no offense. But in China, one in 200 people or something are obese or overweight or something. I'm considered larger than average there because a lady had to get me a bigger size from the back of the store... lol. In the northern cities, tianjin and beijing the girls are very tall and skinny. About 1/4 of them or so are like over 5'8" and probably under 120 lbs. I didn't realize so many Chinese women were very tall. The more south you go, the shorter people are. In Beijing, the girls wear the CUTEST clothes! They wear skirts with ruffles with matching shirts, and with awesome strappy sandals. I came here and I was like, people in minnesota wear boring outfits! lol. Because people in mn wear khakis, jeans and sweatshirts, while ppl in Beijing wear tailored pants, shirts with cool design and cute dresses!

I need to start eating healthier. The junk food in china is like healthy food in the us. I drank a glass of tropicana today, and it was like packed with sugar. I also need to start exercising more. That's probably why the people there are so skinny. The walk and bike and eat healthy foods.

It's very ironic. The Chinese want to stay white, while Americans or should I say caucasians want to be DARk. During the afternoon, people walk with umbrellas over their head so they won't get tan.

The first couple of days were very rough because i was so tired and I was adjusting to everything (esp. the bathrooms!) squatting was very tricky. lol. Eating was hard because my grandparents forced food down my thorat. Ni bu neng chi zhe ge fan zai mei guo!! and then i was constipated for the first few days bc of the airplane ride (the airplane pressure you didn't need to know that)

I want ot live in Beijing when I get older. That means I will need to work hard on Chinese. I know about 1/3 of the words I see, and I want to be able to get to 80%.

Not all guys smoke in China, but a lot of them do. My two uncles smoke and my grandma. It's culture. It' sculture to smoke and sit and talk with your friends. The girls don't smoke though... it's weird. I think the girls want to keep their complexions :). It's also weird how old people don't die from smoking. I mean here in the US, you hear these horror stories about getting lung cancer and stuff. But the truth is, most people who have lung cancer have never smoked a cigarette in their life. Smoking is not looked down upon, but it's not favored either. Sometimes the type of cigarette is a sign of class.

I miss china. I"ve only been home twelve hours. I want to be able to walk down the stairs of the apartment and buy a popsicle. I want to be able to eat beef noodles or go window shopping.

They say America's century has passed, and now it's China's. The country is BLOOMING! Most everyone has cell phones and digital cameras and computers just like here in the US. The cell phones are a lot more sophisticated there. you can im on you phone too! i tried it with my cousin's. You right a word in chinese and the cell phone tries to read the work and it gives you choices to which one your word resembles. awesome! and in china, people put lil trinkets in this hole on their phone. i bought a bunch to give to friends and stuff.

Carrie, you NEED to come over. I got a BUNCh of dvd's.
